Ruf got to experience what might have been the longest silent treatment in the history of silent treatments. No one acknowledged him until the inning was over and once it was the dugout mobbed him. He then walked out to left field to receive a standing ovation from the fans. Watching young players take in the atmosphere of the big leagues is a beautiful thing.
